Turkey Statistical Institute (TSI), calculated by the method of production for 2018 gross domestic product (GDP) has announced the results. Accordingly, Turkey's economy grew 2.6 last year. The economy shrank by 3 percent in the last quarter of 2018.
Annual GDP, which was obtained by the total of four periods according to the production method, increased by 2.6 percent in 2018 compared to the previous year as the chained volume index (2009 = 100).
According to the production method, GDP in current prices was 3 trillion 700 billion 989 million TL in 2018 with an increase of 19.1 percent compared to the previous year.
When the activities that constitute the Gross Domestic Ingredient are examined; In 2018, the value added of the agricultural sector as a chained volume index increased by 1.3 percent, the industrial sector increased by 1.1 percent and the construction sector decreased by 1.9 percent. The value added of services sector, which consists of trade, transportation, accommodation and food service activities, increased by 5.6 percent.

GDP Decrease 3 PERCENT IN THE FOURTH QUARTER OF 2018
First estimate of the fourth quarter of Gross Domestic Product; the indexed volume index (2009 = 100) decreased by 3 percent in the fourth quarter of 2018 compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
Estimated Gross Domestic Product production by production method increased by 13.4 percent in the fourth quarter of 2018 and became 1 trillion 10 billion 114 million TL.
When the activities that constitute the Gross Domestic Ingredient are examined; In the fourth quarter of 2018, as a chained index, compared to the same quarter of the previous year; The total value added of the agricultural sector decreased by 0.5 percent, the industrial sector decreased by 6.4 percent and the construction sector by 8.7 percent. The value added of the services sector, which consists of trade, transportation, accommodation and food service activities, decreased by 0.3 percent.
Calendar adjusted GDP index decreased by 3.2 percent in the fourth quarter of 2018 compared to the same quarter of the previous year. Seasonally and calendar adjusted GDP chains decreased by 2.4 percent compared to the previous quarter.
HOUSEHOLD FINISHING EXPENDITURES IN 2018 INCREASED BY 1.1%
Total final consumption expenditures of resident households and non-profit organizations (HHKOK), which serve households, increased by 1.1 percent in 2018 compared to the previous year's chained volume index. The share of household consumption expenditures in GDP was 57.6 percent.
