The profit of the companies in the stock market in 2018, reached 90 billion pounds

While the net profit of the companies traded under BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul increased by 15 percent compared to the end of 2017 compared to the end of 2017, İşbank achieved the highest net profit.

According to the information compiled by the AA correspondent, the 2018 net profit of the listed companies increased by 15 percent compared to 2017.

Thus, the net profit of the companies, which was 77 billion 344 million TL in 2017, increased to 88 billion 947 million pounds in 2018.

76 out of 95 companies, which were traded under the BIST 100 index and shared their financial results during the balance sheet disclosure period, recorded a net profit last year. The remaining 19 companies announced a net loss.

In this period, İş Bank, Garanti Bank, Akbank, Eregli Iron and Steel, Koç Holding, Yapı ve Kredi Bankasi, VakıfBank, İskenderun Demir ve Çelik, Turkish Airlines (THY), Sabancı Holding, Tüpraş, Doğan Holding, Halk Bankası, Şişecam, 25 companies, including Aselsan, Turkcell, Ford Otosan, Enka Construction, Soda Sanayii, TAV Airports, Tekfen Holding, Tofaş, Emlak Konut, BİM and Koza Gold, carried their net profit to over 1 billion lira.

- İşbank climbed up two places to peak

According to the disclosed balance sheets, İşbank became the highest bank with 6 billion 769 million Turkish liras in the last year. Thus, while Garanti Bank, one of the top banks in 2017, was at the peak of 2017, İşbank also rose two places at a time.

Garanti Bank ranked second with a net profit of 6 billion 638 million TL.

In terms of net profit, these two banks were invested by Akbank with 5 billion 690 million pounds, Ereğli Iron and Steel with 5 billion 598 million pounds, Koç Holding with 5 billion 537 million, Yapı Kredi Bank with 4 billion 667 million liras and Vakıflar Bank with 4 billion 154 million pounds. 4 billion 109 million pounds Iskenderun Iron and Steel, 4 billion 45 million pounds followed by THY.

The highest net loss in this period, 1 billion 391 million pounds Turk Telekom announced.

- Leadership in profit increase at Doğan Holding

Doğan Holding was the company that increased its net profit in terms of quantity in 2017 compared to the previous year. The said company lost 323 million pounds in 2017, while in 2018 it announced a profit of 3 billion 633 million pounds. On April 6, 2018, the share of the holding in the companies operating in the media sector to Demirören Media Investments was increased to 916 million dollars.

Doğan Holding followed THY among the companies that increased its net profit most. In the past year, the net profit of Turkish Airlines increased from 639 million liras to 4 billion 45 million liras.

When the figures are explained in terms of percentage, it was seen that Vestel took the first place in net profit increase.

During the period in question, Vestel's net profit reached TL 371 million from 55 million liras, indicating that the company's net profit was about 7 times higher. Net profit increased by 533 percent to 4 billion 45 million pounds THY was in the second place in terms of percentage increase.

 - Halk Bank and Tüpraş lose their place in the top 10

In terms of net profit, companies in the top 10 in 2017 were listed on a large scale in 2018.

Garanti Bank, İş Bank, Akbank, Koç Holding, Tüpraş, Ereğli Iron and Steel, Halk Bank, VakıfBank, Yapı ve Kredi Bank and Sabancı Holding ranked among the companies with the highest net profit in 2017.

Last year, Tüpraş and Halk Bank were leaving the list, and these companies were replaced by İskenderun Demir and Çelik and THY.
