Banking sector deposits decreased


Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) have been published by the Weekly Money and Banking Statistics.

Accordingly, the total deposits in the banking sector (including interbank) decreased by 1 billion 996 million 480 thousand pounds per week ending in March 1, 2 trillion 125 billion 835 million 577 thousand pounds 2 trillion 123 billion 839 million 97 thousand pounds fell.

In this period, TL-denominated deposits in banks increased by 0.69 percent to 1 trillion 9 billion 249 million 871 thousand lira, while in foreign currency (FX) deposits increased by 0.65 percent to 1 trillion 11 billion 856 million 13 thousand lira.

FX deposits in banks increased by $ 1 billion 619 million last week to $ 202 billion 783 million. Of these, 186 billion 321 million USD deposit banks and 16 billion 462 million dollars are included in the participation banks.

Foreign exchange deposits of banks in deposit banks amounted to 156 billion 807 million people and 4 billion 851 million dollars were composed of domestic banks. In foreign exchange deposits, deposits of non-residents abroad amounted to USD 17 billion 555 million, while deposits of banks residing abroad amounted to USD 7 billion 108 million.

- Installment commercial loans increased

Consumer loans in deposit banks rose to 378 billion 957 million 225 thousand liras in a week. Installment commercial loans increased by 1.05 percent to 350 billion 110 million 287 thousand pounds rose. In the same period, the balance of credit cards rose by 0.80 percent to 131 billion 337 million 216 thousand pounds.

171 billion 255 million 776 thousand pounds of consumer loans in deposit banks, housing, 5 billion 223 million 96 thousand pounds and 202 billion 478 million 353 thousand pounds were composed of other loans.

The total loan volume of the banking sector (including the CBRT), which ended March 1 with 17 billion 66 million 686 thousand pounds a week, increased to 2 trillion 325 billion 933 million 691 thousand pounds. Total credit volume increased by 11.56 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
